Cherries and paper piecing at The Lollipop Ladies!

Today there’s a new challenge up at The Lollipop Ladies! The challenge picture is showing cupcakes in pink, white and brown, with cherries and biscuits. The background is dotted. The extra challenge is to use paper piecing. This is what I came up with.

My paper piecing is the flowers. I draw them myself with some inspiration from a Basic Grey paper, cut them in small parts and glued them together. The background is sprayed with brown mist and stamped with flowers.

The card with cherries is from K & Company. The wooden butterfly got some glitter on it.

Thank you SO much for looking!!!

“Pyttetåget”

This is a layout about my husband and our daughter taking a ride with this tiny little train called “Pyttetåget” on our holiday. Nothing special for a grown up, but she has been talking about it ever since. That’s why I added “happy” on the layout ;)

I decorated the background with two shades of green mist. I also splashed some yellow mist and stamped dots in copper. The embellishments are from Basic Grey’s Indie Bloom and Lauderdale, as well as October Afternoon’s 5 & Dime.

The butterflies are made with a die, papers from Indie Bloom, and some black paper. I put them on top of each other and made “the body” with Glossy Accent.

Thank you SO much for looking! It makes me so happy when you pop over to my blog (and maybe leave a comment)!

Seize the day!

This layout is made for a Swedish challenge and I therefore I will write in Swedish. According to the challenge you are only allowed to use white, beige and brown. You should also use at least one thing from nature, like a stone or a twig. I hope that my non Swedish friends will still enjoy looking!

Den ena fick bli titeln på layouten – seize the day!

Thank you SO much for looking!!!

Doll’s house

This layout is made for August challenge at ARTastic. The challenge is to get inspired by the painting ‘The Playing Claude Renoir’ by Auguste Renoir. To get some extra bonus points you should also include ribbon, a picture of a child playing and paint on the background (or create your own background). Sounds like most of my layouts, isn’t it? But it’s not a color combo that I usually use. And actually I had to struggle to find a suitable motif as our daughter not often plays this kind of calm games…

Our daughter got this doll’s house as a Christmas present last Christmas. I renovated it myself using patterned scrapbooking paper both as wallpaper and floor. If you want to have a look at the blog post about the doll’s house, please click here:)

The background is decorated with yellow and nougat mist, some ink and a mask, and finally some splashed acrylic paint in two different colors.

The picture below shows the ribbon and some different embellishments.

The sweet life

This layout is made for August's challenge at White With 1. This month you shall use white, purple, and include some doodling. I love doing monochromatic pages and when I saw that WW1 had chosen purple I just had to join in! Purple is one of my favorite colors when scrapping – and it’s my daughters favorite color!

I have used three different shades of purple mist. I also stamped a bit and splashed some paint on the background. The butterfly is cut with a die, inked and decorated with some purple rhinestones.

I clustered some different purple embellishments on the right side of the picture. Two of the flowers are colored with mists, one is cut with a die and one is a vellum piece from K & Company. I don’t know what you WW1 girls think about my “doodling”. I was supposed to do some normal doodling but my hand got a bit too “creative” and started doing this kind of doodle that I used to do when I was a teenager at school listening to some (boring) teacher… ;)

Thanks for looking! If you leave a comment it makes my day!

Incredible balance!

This layout is made for August sketch challenge at Kraft it up! I love working with kraft – both as backgrounds and embellishments and therefore I was so overwhelmed when I saw that I was one if the winners last month (Highly commended)! I’m SO delighted!!! THANKS girls!!! (Look here if you are curious.)
When I saw this sketch, I immediately thought of these pictures of our daughter playing at a “nature’s playground”. They are perfect for this multi picture sketch! It was a surprise for me that our little girl has such an incredible balance. We passed this playground that is for school children and she wanted to try – and she just chocked me when she could do all this without falling! (She was just 2 years and 8 months old!)

I colored the background with yellow and turquoise acrylic paint and dark turquoise and lime mist. The checked pattern is a flocked transparent paper from Fancy Pants. Most of the patterned papers and embellishments are from Basic Grey.

Thank you SO much for looking!!! I love when you leave comments – it makes my day!

Midsummer dancing and Ice cream

Today I will share two layouts with you. The first one shows some pictures from the special midsummer occasion that we celebrate in Sweden in June. As flowers are very important at this occasion I wanted a lot of flowers on the layout.

The background is from Sassafras Lass Sunshine Broadcast. I made my own mask that depicts a maypole (cf. on the picture) and spayed with blue mist. I filled in the outlines with a pen.

The embellishments are from Basic Grey, K & Company etc.

The second layout is kind of special to me as it’s made out of papers that I won at a Blog Candy at Scraplagret (a Swedish webshop – one of the very best in my opinion). This is the first time ever that I entered a blog candy and I did it because I just loved the colors in these papers. To me they were “ice cream colors” so I saved them for this “ice cream layout”.

I sprayed the background with yellow and lime mists. I also stamped with yellow ink on a mask. The edges were colored with pink ink.
I used a lot of dies and punches as I wanted to use a lot of different papers. I also used some doilies bought at the flea market, stickers from Prima and October Afternoon.

Thank you SO much for looking!!!

A rainy summer

Today there’s a new challenge up at The Lollipop Ladies! This time you should be inspired by a picture of a pink embossed cupcake (there is some red in the picture too). The extra challenge is to add some dry embossing.
I thought I had done so many pink layouts lately so I started thinking of how to make something “new” out of it. And I came up with the idea to make a pink page about the incredibly rainy summer we have!

I wanted to add a lot of dots and splashes to get the feeling of raindrops. First I sprayed the background with different shades of pink mist. Then I stamped with two sizes of bubble wrap and two shades of pink ink and embossed it. Finally I splashed some dark grey and pink mist.
My dry embossing is seen behind the picture. It’s colored with some ink in order to be more visible. I made the round “flowers” myself.

Thanks so much for looking!!! I hope you will join the challenge!!!

Quote challenge at Scrap the Girls

This layout is made for the ongoing challenge at Scrap the Girls. The challenge is to use the following quote somewhere on the layout:
Children need love, especially when they do not deserve it. ~Harold Hulbert
This is my take on the challenge:

The picture is on our daughter and her grandmother (my husband’s mother). I just love the expression on her face! There is so much love in it! Even if our daughter is screaming so that her ears hurt you can still see that love! I thought the picture was suitable for the challenge – but I had a hard time because of the colors on the picture (milky red, beige, brown, demin, light yellow and turquoise…).

I choose to use a paper from Bo Bunny’s new Et Cetera collection as a background. I colored it up a little bit extra with pink, blue and green ink. I also wanted the background to shimmer so I pained it with Distress Stickles. The flowers on the background are made with a mask and copper ink. I finally splattered some gold mist.

Thank you SO much for looking! I hope you will leave a comment when you are here!

Cool style!

When I showed this layout to my husband he said that it was a little bit brighter than usual. And maybe it is. Anyhow, my purpose was to create a sunny and tropical feeling as a framework to these pictures of our daughter playing football in her grandparents’ garden. She got the football as a present and I was quite surprised when she immediately handled it like this!

The background is decorated with ink in yellow and bronze. I also splashed on a lot of acryl paint in different colors to make the layout more playful. The embellishments are from Basic Grey’s Lauderdale papers. Some of them are cut and embossed in a die-cut machine.

Vill inte gå upp

This layout is made for a Swedish challenge and I therefore write in Swedish. The challenge is to be inspired by the canary Molly (on the picture) and to include yellow and circles. I hope that my non Swedish friends will still enjoy looking!
